Most bags are made to be seen from the front. This one was made to be examined.
The Medallion Crossbody is hand-tooled on every surface a craftsman could reach — the front flap, the back panel, the oval base, the inner leather pocket. Botanical vines, leaf clusters, and flower heads press into the full-grain oxblood leather in high relief, each motif centered around a dominant medallion composition that has no beginning and no end. The pattern doesn't stop where the camera can't see it. That is what separates a craftsman from an assembler.
Turn the bag over. The back carries the same density of carving as the front — not a mirror image, but the same commitment. The whipstitch completes a full 360° circuit around every panel edge, each loop of cream leather lacing individually placed. At the base, the bag sits on a structured oval footprint — not a flat bottom, a shaped one. The kind of base that keeps a bag upright on a table, that gives it posture.
Open the antique brass push-lock clasp. The flap swings back to reveal grey canvas lining on its underside. Below it, the main compartment: a full-width zip pocket in matching antique brass and, beneath that, a leather pouch secured with its own snap — and this pocket is tooled. The same botanical pattern that covers the exterior continues inside. The craftsman who made this bag had no audience for that interior carving. They did it anyway.
The strap is adjustable for crossbody or shoulder carry. The attachment points are reinforced with X-stitched leather tabs, the hardware antique brass throughout. The color is Oxblood Plum — a deep burgundy that shifts between wine-red and near-black as the light changes. Over time, with conditioning, this leather will develop a rich, complex patina. The carved lines will deepen. The raised surfaces will catch a warm sheen.
Full-grain leather, hand tooled, no two pieces identical.
This is not a bag for people who want to be subtle. It is a bag for people who know exactly what they're carrying.
