Leather Care Guide
Your RAQZ piece is made to last a lifetime. Keeping it that way is simpler than it sounds — here is everything you need to know, by leather type.
Suede leather wallets
Bifold and Trifold Wallets — all colours
Suede is tougher than its soft feel suggests. A few simple habits and it will look better in five years than it does today.
- Brush regularly. A quick brush with a suede brush lifts the nap and removes dust. Once a week is plenty.
- If it gets wet, blot — do not rub. Use a dry cloth, then leave it to air dry naturally. It will come back good as new.
- Protect it early. Apply a suede protector spray when it is new. One coat lasts months.
- Use it. The colour and texture deepen with use. A well-worn suede wallet is a beautiful thing.
Keep it away from back pockets where sustained pressure can flatten the nap. A front or jacket pocket is all it needs.
Hair-on goat hide bags
Bohemian Crossbody, Savanna Crossbody
The hair panels are more resilient than they look. Each panel is a unique natural hide — the variation in colour and texture is the material, not a flaw.
- Brush in the direction of the hair to clear dust — a soft brush works perfectly.
- If it gets wet, shake off the excess and air dry. Keep it away from direct heat while drying.
- Store it with room to breathe. Avoid prolonged compression. A cotton dust bag is ideal.
The hair and leather will evolve naturally with use. That is the character of the material.
Horse leather bags and pouches
Tapestry Floral Crossbody, Barrel Pouch, Petal Barrel Pouch
Horse leather is one of the toughest hides in the world. It asks very little of you.
- Wipe down with a dry cloth after use. That is your main maintenance.
- Condition every few months. Apply a small amount of leather conditioner with a cloth, work it in, and buff it off. Two minutes, done.
- The tooled patterns deepen with time. This is a feature, not wear — let it happen.
Camel leather duffel
Nomad Duffel
Camel leather evolved to handle the Thar Desert. Your travels are easy by comparison.
- Wipe clean after trips with a dry cloth. That is usually all it needs.
- Condition once or twice a year with a leather balm — the handles and strap benefit most.
- Let it age. The natural marbling deepens and the character develops with every journey.
A few things that apply to all RAQZ pieces
- Never dry near heat — always air dry at room temperature
- Store in a breathable bag, not plastic
- Test any new product on a small hidden patch first
- Act on stains early — fresh stains are always easier to handle
- Patina is not damage — it is the material doing exactly what it was made to do
